@lyse is showing three things: a) a finished, functional product, b) strong enough to support a grown man weight, c) @lyse is fit, and can jump! :-) Well done!
All done now. 4.5 hours, not bad, considering I had to involved their tech support for the media agents on Azure.
I am on annual leave, but getting ready to work at 10:00. Commvault, which we use for backups, had another patch released for log4j2. I am the lucky one that gets to apply it. 🄳
I figure out what happens with me, at least. Each time I follow fastidious@arrakis.netbros.com is adds it to Homer as fastidious@twtxt.net, which doesn't exist. This is an issue, @prologic.

Still doesn't explain why I can't see the tagline for @ullarah, or @xuu, or @eldersnake, to mention just a few.
It is weird. I follow me from @homer, but it tells me here that account doesn't follow me. I can't see the description/tagline for it, nor for @ullarah's for example. It is rather inconsistent.
Perhaps using something like this for URLs? What say you, @ullarah?
@prologic I am sure it is fixable, I just don’t know how yet. Twitter ellipses long URLs that would break the interface. I always Markdownify my URLs, but it seems common here to simply drop them in a twt.

Hoping @ullarah and, perhaps, @markwylde could chime in on this.
@prologic ah, I see! I know what it is. Not a bug, it is the URL wrapping that causes a small visual glitch when selected/tapped on a mobile device.
@prologic other than the screenshot, it is written on the twt. šŸ˜…
@prologic will pass today. Barely 07:04 here. Still lingering in bed—you know, vacation and all. šŸ˜‚
I did well to screenshot it, I think the twt was edited, and that corrected the issue.
@ullarah, I think @prologic just found you a bug. The link is going over the line. Screenshot, just in case:

Link over line
@prologic leaving the haughty American behaviour aside, it surprises me there is no mention of this on NASA’s own website. It is akin of reading about the extinction of kangaroos from a science agency in the US, and not finding anything about it on anything Australian.
Woah! No power for hours?! So sorry mate! It reminds me when we lose power during hurricane season. No AC and food spoiling are the worse! ā˜¹ļø
@prologic I figure you are delaying that exposure from your children until they are mature enough to make such decision on their own volition, correct?
@prologic go, go, go!
Thank you, @markwylde! That one has been driving @ullarah (and us all) nuts!
Oh, please, don't! No, really, let's not. šŸ˜…
@prologic nah. Never worry. Things can, and will, get better! šŸ’ŖšŸ»
@prologic I have read it, a couple of times. I have feedback, of course. I have learned that, when offering constructive criticism, I should wait a bit, let things sink, gather my thoughts, and reply. I am on the "wait a bitā„¢" stage. Maybe others chime in first, and cover some of what I have in mind. ā˜ŗļø
@prologic I guess. I mean, they are both (current and upcoming) not that great, but I think upcoming is a notch better. If set as default, I would probably make it a little bit smaller (the logo), but that just me.
@thecanine oh boy; nothing is going to, ever, go wrong with that setup. 😬
@prologic better looking ā€œyarnā€ ball now. A tidy one. I agree with @homer on the pod’s name and description.
Yes, the spinner has worse issues now than before. It used to be drunk, now it is crazy, and drunk. šŸ˜‚
@prologic it is better now. The font is still bigger than on previous, but much passable right now. Is that logo @fox’s design? I would remove the ā€œthreadā€ at the bottom of it, leaving just the ball.
It is huuuuuuuuuge! Both, the logo and font size within the SVG.
I think there certainly are politicians that are better than others. I don’t think of politics and law as bullshit jobs. I would say they are a ā€œnecessary evilā€.
@prologic I see. You could list them with the caveat that they might, or might not be 100% available—one of the drawbacks of decentralisation—or ask for a contact detail as part of the prerequisite for being listed. It would make sense.

@eldersnake suggestion is quite good too!
No, no, @ullarah saw it too, but now is gone. You were seeing apparitions. šŸ˜‚
No, no, @ullarah saw it too, but now is gone. You were not seeing apparitions. šŸ˜‚
It was changed back to default? I see no new avatar.
@prologic right, a technical ping is what I meant. Like a query to an API for which a reply is expected. If no replies after x time, drop it. That’s the gist.
@prologic don’t list them. Or unlist them if they do not respond to pings after x amount of time.
@prologic isn’t that Mentano’s problem? Not mine, not anyone, but Mentano’s.
Why is there a need to contact someone running a pod? If a pod comes up, fine. If it goes away, fine too. Decentralised, and on free will. No worries, no issues.
@prologic we were beta testing, no? So, beta test we did! LOL.
Again, didn’t take that long. I mean, it has never been instant so, hard to tell sometimes.
Posting from mobile web. I am not sure why it took so long, a while ago, to post. Maybe it happens when certain task is running? We’ll see.
@homer I hear you. Signals from that pod are coming loud and clear. Also, hmmm, bacooooon.
It is not. For some reason my reply to a previous twt took a lifetime to happen. Hmm.
Hmm, is it slow on posting again? We shall find out!
@prologic awesome. I can see off_grid now, so will not miss any replies to him anymore---and will get a look at this work every once in a while. That was quick!
@prologic woot! Excellent. I am eating but should be around the machine within 30-40 minutes. It is wine night! šŸ˜‚
@jlj yes, I have. It is a tricky dance, as I am the "stable" earner in the family. I am also 53, which makes me not as marketable as, say, someone in their 30s, or low 40s, regardless of proven expertise. Something to do with medical premiums, etc.
@prologic just because they can, and I take it. They keep saying there is no money, yet upper management has doubled, and team members have reduced. It is messed up.
@lyse wooza! Close to 100% humidity is amazing! I am embattled with having over 60% inside the house, which is not good, as it encourages mould to grow.

The arborist did a great job!
Also, what is 5? Is that part of an animal trap, or is it a rabbit sculpture?
@lyse if you were to guess, what would the humidity percentage be? I like slightly foggy air, and the temperatures, for sure! That dark sheep seems to be behaving, who would have thought!
@movq oh, I do. šŸ˜‚ it helps me little, but I do my best to show them the right way. As the saying goes ā€œgive a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetimeā€.
@lyse kind of. It sucks. Oh, and I make $25K less than my peers, who often seek advice from me, and whose work I often have to redo/fix. šŸ˜ž
Saint @movq, the Advent of Code Zen Master! 😊
@lyse the name of my position is systems engineer. Right now I am the only one managing the storage appliances (Pure Storage and NetApp), the managed file transfer cluster (GoAnywhere) and the load balancers (BIG-IP F5). I also do Linux system administration (which a bunch of other little things tossed in it). And, as a catch all, ā€œother tasks as assignedā€ā€”clearly written in my position description.

Humidity here is super high. 88% outside, 63% inside the house. That’s no good. Have open doors and some windows, and am running the AC fan, now to see if I can lower it to at least 50% inside the house.
Need to make a plan for this time off. At the very least a daily plan of some kind, otherwise my days will fly and I would have done nothing at the end of it. Of course, doing nothing is sure something, but still.

To further complicate things, I was just told I am on call from tomorrow until the 22nd, and from 2022-01-01 till 2022-01-07. WTF?!
@prologic that's a good question! To get the answer you must seek the Oracle: "Would You Still Have Broken It If I Hadn't Said Anything?" šŸ˜‚
Slightly off tangent, @prologic, but the hash tags search doesn’t seem to be working. Try it on your #Apple, or the one on my twt.
Oh yes, much better now! Phew! I got worried there for a moment. I am going to restart without debug enabled now.
Updated to 57f7411, lets see how this goes now. Still running on -D mode too, maybe that too?
I am noticing some lag on posting twt replies. Let's see how it is on a brand new twt. It might have something to do with the immense cache I keep, maybe?
I currently use Apple Music extensively on both, iOS and macOS. Having it as a full native app would be awesome---more responsive, for sure. #AppleIsAwesome
Yes, it is working really well! It is a superb experience being able to see the other side, instead of a "#uuanwsa LOL, that's right!" kind of thing. Good job, @prologic!
Beta testing it. 😜
Updated. What am I looking for? Was there anything added to the "Manage Pods" screen?
And yes, I have read about it. I have read their FAQ. Again, don’t get it.
@ullarah don’t see Gemini going anywhere. Everything Gemini does HTTP does too, and more. I just don’t get it. Why to reinvent Gopher, just slightly ā€œbetterā€?
@xuu fully agree. I am afraid elements behind the movement might sway people to it. Now, HTTP3, on the other hand, will be the real deal.
@prologic grats! Today is my first day off. Still have 1.5 hours left. Flavouring every morsel of it!
@prologic oh boy, now you are starting a war akin ā€œwhich editor is the best?ā€. šŸ˜¬šŸ˜‚
@prologic no, no RSS, but if it had I would simply add it to my Reeder list.
@anth I have been reading your blog. I like it very much! It is now on my ā€œcheck once a weekā€ list.
The last portion/paragraph of the ā€œPrivacyā€ page (header ā€œHow is this all free? There must be a catchā€) needs changing to something more general.
@prologic maybe @xuu could help a little? Honestly, and jokes aside, I am going to try dabbling with Golang. Might not get too far, but will at least try.
And by ā€œIā€ Homer meant me. OK, I am going to go sit on a corner now. šŸ˜‚šŸ™ˆ
@prologic converge is good! Actually, I like it much more than the ones I recommended.
@prologic ā€œrather I'm not sure what to name the operationā€ — Call it, inoculate, inject, make-sense, or fill-it-in. 🤣
ā€œSoonā„¢ļø to be implemented.ā€ I think I am going to pick up Golang. šŸ˜‚
@prologic you are replying to the wrong person. You need to update your following for it.
@lohn it is the same word in Spanish. I speak Spanish. Also in Italian. šŸ˜‚
@anth I think Microsoft and Alphabet go hand by hand. I used to run my mail server too, but long realised it ain’t worth it. It was fun, and challenging, and I could do neat little things with it, but it had the drawbacks you mentioned, and more. Right now I split my two main domains between Alphabet and Apple.
I was able to get rid of my Lyse alter ego feed by "archiving" it. Phew! Finally my drop list of "post as..." looks a little bit cleaner. It was driving me nuts. Seriously. I know, I know, I have an issue. 😩
Being off while partner still works kind of sucks. I foresee I will be playing a lot of Diablo III. Does anyone around here plays that game? I am on the Americas server, of course, and my Battle.Net tag is Fastidious#11456. Add me in, and let’s play! 😊
More to your twt, I don’t drink coffee… much. When I drink, I like expressos, and I drink four or five at a time. That’s about a ā€œtallā€ cup. In a 20 ounces cup it will be cold in no time. No bueno.
@ullarah what in the world?! Masai?! Jumbo?! I am sure their marketing department worked hard to come up with those terms.
After many years, I still get confused by Starbucks stupid ā€œtall, grande, and ventiā€. What was wrong with small, medium, and large?
@prologic OK, I will bite. What is ā€œimrpetnwzā€? Are you pulling our chain with Australian words again? 😜
@prologic I see. On an SVG you can match, by just let it fill. That is the way it is right now. Now, if you set gradients, I am not sure how will that work. I agree the logo on assets looks like drawn by a child šŸ˜‚. Nothing wrong with that; children can be quite art experts, but, yeah, you are right.
@prologic this logo, it is for Yarn, or for non-profit website, and letterheads, or all of the above, or something else? Right now Yarn's logo is without gradient, and takes the colour after the main theme colour. If this one is for Yarn, does it means we are to change the theme colour to match (on default theme, that is)?
@lyse yeah, I thought about engaging, but the "don't feed the troll" thought came to mind, so... splunk.
@prologic I think "sovereignty" is misspelled. I would probably add 2-3 seconds more per "slide", because the font of choice made it a bit hard for me to read, and understand.
"You seem to have not gotten my email" "I am resending you this again, in case I caught you in a bad moment" "You seem to have been busy, so I am reaching out again" --- Those, and more, are how the lines UCE for work related products look like.

If I am not replying, if I am not taking your calls, maybe I don't care about whatever you are selling, or I don't have decision making---and my manager doesn't want to talk to you either. Whichever the case, I sometimes wonder how long will it take them to give up. Of course, if they are bots, bots don't care.
@prologic I do follow him, yes. I checked again the discovered peering pods, and found nfld, twtxt.net, in addition to the previously mentioned ones.
I don't see a few of those on my pod. I only see Arrakis, Quisquiliae, tw.lohn.in, and txt.sour.is.
Perfect! Now I can delete all the hanging branches I have laying around, and start afresh. Phew! Thanks! LOL.
I made the changes on my pod. After the pending PR is forced through, I will send this one in.

Icons re-arranged
Hmm, actually you can.
@thecanine the icons can be moved around, with some exception. Edit and delete go together, and you cannot fork your own twt.
@lohn it is under manage pod. It is now a little computer icon on the far right of the footer.
@laz I would rather be in the mountains, mate! Servers can wait, specially hobby ones.
@prologic yup. Or make an otherwise unused hash be the link to click/tap to copy. Either way, KISS is always a good approach.
