@jlj the Solus site is rather bogus. Is it based on Debian? What does it comes with it that makes it unique enough for someone to use?
XMPP became relevant when Google decided to use it. It became irrelevant when they stopped.
@prologic anyone who hasn't had to shovel their way out of the garage, or their house, or who hasn't seeing the mess the melting snow creates, or hasn't experienced corrosion because of the salt used to melt it... anyone who hasn't dealt with the traffic mess it can ensue under snowy conditions will say the same: "I miss it."
We miss it like we miss the holidays, that come and go without much impact. If you had to live with it, boy, that sentence will not ever be written. 🤣
@prologic their interface is ugly and clunky, they crash, and often do not work at all. But don't take my word for it, install them and you will see what I am talking about.
@lyse love that roof---and the snow, too!---and wish we built like that in the States. It looks like built to last, not like our 25 years shingles.
I use everything Apple and I love it, the same I love my mattress, and my 10,000 thread count sheets (kidding on that last one, but you get the idea 😂).

@prologic servers? Many exist, even written in Golang. The problem resides with the clients, or lack thereof.
XMPP is hard to beat, but there is no client for iOS—or whatever exists is plain rubbish.

@prologic not owning a car is a blessing for many reasons. I wish I didn’t. Sadly they are a necessity in the States; where we live public transportation is close to non-existent.

@prologic colour changing would be cool, perhaps even useful if driving across many geographical areas. In Florida, for example, you want a colour that reflects light, nothing dark. As you drive to colder areas, you might want the opposite. Some interesting utility on that feature, for sure.

@prologic over 12,000 employees, over 70,000 students. It is the second largest university in the US, enrolment wise, this year. It was the first last year.
@pc it is decentralised. You can run your own, with relatively little resources, allowing you to fully control it.
@prologic why not? It will still be a toggle on settings. All I am asking if there could be a choice to set it enabled per default (like some other pod settings), and allow users to overwrite.
@prologic wish I could say the same for my first day at work after the break. I couldn’t keep up with everything that happened during break, plus new requests, plus new projects, plus only me there to tackle things.
Yesterday and today have been a nice break from all of that. And tomorrow, well, tomorrow I have planned to take deep breaths, and go over things the best I can, without letting anything stress me out.

@prologic start slow, say, 2000-3000 steps per day. Then up it 500 steps every week until you reach 10000 daily steps, or so. Then keep it up, every day, do not miss a streak. You will notice a change in your life. Of course, if you can run it, or alternate walk and run, it would be the best!

I have never understood why people uses photos of screens, or even screenshots, of a crash. If it's help what's sought, extracting and providing the text from the crash is much better. And it doesn't bloat the email.

OK, I just pulled master and built. I have the feature on the pod I am running. I like it! Yet, it is missing something.
Whichever yarn gets a reply, it goes to top. Timeline must be keep chronologically ordered based on which yarn was the last one replied to. That way you see the last activity right there.
Both screens are different; one is the "mobile" app, the other is web on mobile. Can't compare them that way. I am also cautiously concerned with anything gets "quickly" "hacked" 😂. Is this a feature, like you always do? If so, what must I do to enable it at my end? I am going to be pretty much off for the rest of the day today, and tomorrow---medical reasons---but hopefully will ping you back on Thursday.

Well, they are now gone. I bet it was just local browser caching. That’s the only explanation.
I removed autoloading of remote images because they were slowing down the pod big time. Specially images coming from Down Under. 😢
You are the only one exhibiting this problem, so it might be something localised.
